The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is a voluntary patient organization, which has been dedicated to improving the lives of fellow kidney patients and their families by helping them deal with the physical, emotional and social impacts of kidney disease for more than 35 years. The programs offered by AAKP inform and inspire patients and their families to better understand their condition, adjust more readily to their circumstances and assume more normal, productive lives.
AAKP produces the magazine, aakpRENALIFE, Kidney Beginnings: The Magazine and aakpDelicious!. These magazines provide articles, news and healthcare information for kidney patients as well as healthcare professionals. The content includes articles on legislative developments that affect kidney patients; information on ensuring access and safeguarding quality of care for all kidney patients; information regarding products and home dialysis programs; news and updates on AAKP activities; dietary guidelines and much more. The publications have a combined circulation of more than 250,000 and is distributed to kidney patients, healthcare professionals, dialysis centers, transplant centers and members of the Association.
