This year-long effort to identify the key philanthropic opportunities was initiated to move the needle on unmet needs specific to kidney failure research and treatment.

AAKP’s President, Paul T. Conway served on the Kidney Disease Scientific Advisory Group for the Milken Institute Philanthropy’s new report.

The prevalence of chronic kidney disease, the staggering associated costs, and the lack of innovative therapeutic options have burdened too many for too long. This Guide presents the key issues that were prioritized and recommendations on how strategic philanthropic investments can not only raise public awareness. but also catalyze new thinking around organ donation, medical device development, and how to better inform and encourage patients to participate in clinical trials.
