DEAN ARMANDROFF

AAKP Ambassador
McLean, Virginia

Dean Armandroff is a former dialysis patient and a recent kidney transplant recipient who brings both lived experience and professional expertise to his role as an AAKP Ambassador. Since joining AAKP in 2023, he has served as a strong voice for the kidney community, advocating for improved care, innovation, and patient choice.

With a career spanning several decades in national public policy and medical affairs, Dean has held prominent roles in advancing healthcare policy. He served as Regional Political Director for the American Medical Association (AMA), where he oversaw the organization’s Political Action Committee (PAC). In that role, he worked closely with a broad, bipartisan coalition of lawmakers to defend the integrity of the doctor–patient relationship, safeguard patient care choice, and promote policies that ensure timely access and fair payment for new medical innovations.

Beyond his work with the AMA, Dean has advised political and public affairs clients on media strategy, messaging, and voter outreach tactics, helping shape campaigns and advocacy efforts across the country.

As a fellow kidney patient, Dean is deeply passionate about improving outcomes and enhancing the quality of care for all individuals living with kidney disease. His combination of professional experience and personal journey uniquely positions him to advocate for policies that put patients first.

Dean and his family live in McLean, Virginia.
