2017 National Patient Meeting!

September 8 – 10, 2017

St. Petersburg, Florida

The AAKP Annual National Patient Meeting is the largest kidney patient education and advocacy meeting held in the United States.  This three-day event provides patients and their care-partners the opportunity to gain information and advocacy skills they need to understand their condition and make informed choices regarding their care; be even more effective in using their voices and experiences to improve access and quality of care for kidney patients; and to influence public policy decisions. Professionals attending the meeting will be able to receive continuing education (CE) credits.

  • Patient/Family member Full Package: $99/person (on and after July 1st: $150/person)
  • Healthcare Professional Package*: $199/person (on and after July 1st: $250/person)

 

AAKP Life Members will always receive the discounted rate of $99/person for a Full Package

 

One-Day registration rates:

  • Patient/Family member one-day: $75/person
  • Healthcare Professional one-day*: $125/person

 

*Continuing education credits will be available for nurses, technicians, social workers and dietitians pending approval of the accrediting agencies.

AAKP is pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships to patients and care-partners who wish to attend the 2017 National Patient Meeting. In respect of these individuals, AAKP encourages only those who truly need financial assistance to attend this year’s meeting submit a Scholarship Application. Applicants’ privacy and submitted information will remain confidential to AAKP. Only completed applications will be considered. Due to the limited number of scholarships available, not all submissions will result in a scholarship. Scholarship funds cover ONLY the cost of the AAKP Meeting Registration. All additional expenses such as travel and lodging must be covered by the attendee.

Every year, AAKP honors industry professionals and patients for contributing to the kidney community throughout the year. The first category includes Legacy Awards – awards that AAKP has extended to organizations and professionals for several decades. The second category encompasses Patient Engagement and Advocacy Awards – awards created over the course of the past several years through AAKP’s new Center for Patient Engagement and Advocacy as a means of recognizing the increased influence patients have on national policy-makers and healthcare deliberations.
