Kidney Cookies for the Holidays (Posted December 20, 2017)

I wanted to share with you the Christmas kidney sugar cookies that I made for my dialysis patients because everyone should get a “kidney” for Christmas even if it is grandma’s sugar cookie recipe.   Kindness – pass it on. And, please share it brought many smiles, laughter, and happiness to their faces.

Grandma Brososky’s Sugar Cookie Recipe:

1 lb butter

2 1/4 cups sugar

2 teaspoons of your favorite flavor: vanilla, almond, lemon or anise

4 eggs

7 cups flour

2 heaping teaspoons baking powder

 

Blend together butter, eggs, sugar and flavoring until smooth.

Add flour and baking powder gradually. Mix until blended.

Refrigerate overnight. Lightly flour surface roll out dough and cut into your favorite shapes. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
